Privacy Policy for Our Chapters

Last updated: May 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Taylor Sanson ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Our Chapters iOS app (the "App").

Our Chapters is a personal and family memory app for parents, guardians, and other adults. It lets you save memories, photos, child profiles, prompts, and optional shared-family content.

Our Chapters is designed so that your memories stay on your device, in your Apple iCloud/CloudKit account, and, if you choose to use shared-family features, with the people invited to or participating in that shared family. We do not operate a separate backend that gives us access to your memories, and we do not sell your memories or use them for third-party advertising.

1. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or privacy requests, contact us at:

2. Information the App Handles

Depending on how you use the App, Our Chapters may handle:

The App includes bundled prompt templates and uses them on device. The App does not send your memories to us for prompt generation.

3. Where Information Goes

Depending on how you use the App, information may be stored on your device, synced through your personal Apple iCloud/CloudKit account, shared through Apple CloudKit with invited or participating shared-family members, processed by Apple for App Store purchases and restore purchases, or sent to us only if you choose to contact support.

4. iCloud Sync and Family Sharing

The App relies on iCloud/CloudKit for app data sync. If iCloud, CloudKit, your Apple account, device storage, or network connection is unavailable, app data may remain local temporarily, syncing may be delayed, and sharing features may not work as expected.

Family sharing inside Our Chapters is optional. If you create or join a shared family, shared memories and shared-family content sync through Apple CloudKit sharing and become available to the people invited to or participating in that shared family. Participants may have their own devices, iCloud accounts, caches, screenshots, exports, or copies outside our control.

5. Notifications

If you enable notifications or reminders, the App may schedule local notifications on your device. User-visible prompt reminders and shared-entry alerts are local notifications. CloudKit may use Apple background notification mechanisms to support sync, but we do not operate a custom push-notification server for your memories.

6. Diagnostics and Support

The App may create local technical logs on your device to help with reliability and troubleshooting. These logs are size-limited and are not sent to us automatically.

Production App Store builds do not show the in-app developer diagnostics sharing tools. If you contact support, we receive only the information you choose to provide.

7. Third-Party SDKs, Analytics, Ads, and Tracking

The App does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, attribution SDKs, subscription-management SDKs, or a separate backend SDK.

The App uses Apple platform services and Swift package dependencies used for app architecture and development. It does not use your memories for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

If we add analytics, crash reporting, advertising, attribution, support tooling, or other third-party services in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required App Store privacy disclosures.

8. How We Use Information

We use information to provide the App's memory, photo, child profile, prompt, search, sync, sharing, subscription, notification, support, and reliability features; to respond to support requests you choose to send us; to comply with legal obligations; and to enforce our Terms of Use.

9. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be shared with Apple as needed for iCloud/CloudKit sync and sharing, StoreKit purchases and restore purchases, notification permissions, and platform functionality. Apple's handling of information is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

Information may also be shared with invited or participating shared-family members if you use shared-family features, with us if you contact support, or when legally necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or handle a business transaction such as a merger or sale of assets.

10. Deletion and Retention

You can use App controls to delete or change certain items, such as memories, photos, child profiles, prompt settings, notification settings, and family-sharing state.

When you delete a memory, photo, child profile, or shared-family item, the App is intended to remove that item from active app storage where the App has permission to do so and to submit the change for iCloud/CloudKit syncing. Deletion may take time to sync to your other devices or to shared-family participants.

We cannot guarantee deletion from Apple's systems, iCloud backups, device backups, local caches, screenshots, exports, copies already viewed by participants, or other locations outside the App's active storage. Deleting a child profile does not necessarily delete every memory or photo associated with that child; to remove a memory or photo, delete that memory or photo directly.

Support communications may remain in our support records for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request and maintain appropriate business records.

11. Your Choices

Depending on how you use the App, you may be able to edit or delete content in the App, choose whether to create or join a shared family, manage sharing controls, disable prompts or notifications, revoke camera/photo/notification permissions in iOS Settings, manage subscriptions through your Apple account, or contact us using the information above for privacy or support requests.

12. Children's Information

Our Chapters is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not use the App directly or provide information to us.

The App may allow an adult user to store information about children, such as names, birth dates, photos, and memory entries, only if the adult chooses to enter that information. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to add, store, and share information about any child whose information you add to the App.

13. Security

We use Apple's platform features and app architecture to help protect data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Because the App relies on Apple services, part of your data protection depends on your device security, Apple account security, iCloud settings, and Apple's infrastructure.

14. International Processing

If you use Apple services, information may be processed or stored by Apple in locations outside your home jurisdiction, subject to Apple's policies and applicable law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
